Working at the nexus of strategy, policy and purpose.

About my work

My professional experience sits across a couple key buckets including:

  • Policy: I help direct policy processes to align global development with economic security; some past experiences include high-stakes initiatives like the $500M CHIPS Fund and the $300M Strategic Competition pilot to secure digital supply chains and advance financial inclusion through expert stakeholder navigation.

  • Strategy: I love helping organizations with global portfolios distil complex geopolitical data into actionable frameworks that allow senior principals to make high-stakes decisions on resource allocation. One example was USAIDs inaugural PRC dashboard in partnership with AIDdata.

  • Implementation: In my former roles at USAID and the State Department, I oversaw flagship economic programs, such as regional digital payment ecosystems and national infrastructure "Calls to Action," establishing the rigorous metrics and governance required to ensure large-scale investments deliver measurable impact.

  • Strategic Engagement: My past experience as the US representative to various World Bank, UN, and G7 fora, I’ve set global collations on issues that matter to me — like financing for high quality infrastructure.

  • Learning & Thought Leadership: I love to write things that help move programs forward, and have been lucky to be a Council on Foreign Relations International Affairs Fellow and Adjunct Fellow with CSIS. I am most proud of the Infrastructure Assistance Review, I co-led with Duke University in 2023/4. I’ve also published with RAND, Foreign Policy, and CSIS, including this primer into the ITU.

Other Work Interests

  • I am a Senior Advisor with MIT’s Presencing Institute, where I have been so lucky to learn directly from Otto Scharmer and Peter Senge.

  • As an ACC certified coach, I work with former public servants as they think through ‘whats next.’

  • After 15 years of experience within the US Government, I am passionate about the effort to modernize and depoliticize the public service!

  • I write a newsletter called on purpose over at substack and I am finalizing my first book!

  • I’ve been recognized by the US Secretary of State for my work on national security and foreign policy.

  • I am exceptionally interested in the nexus of humanism and humanistic organizations and Artificial Intelligence (AI) — my bookshelf is full of books on this topic.

A bit more about me.

I’ve lived in Lebanon, Afghanistan and Libera. I can’t get enough: travel, time outdoors, or olives. I believe the outer progress we seek is found through aligning our inner condition.
